ASK THE EXPERT

Q: What is the best way to apply Concealing Color?
Darac: The Stippler Brush provides the easiest and the most natural looking application.
• Place a pea-sized drop of Concealing Color onto a piece of paper.
• Identify the areas where you are showing more scalp than you would like or have a widening part.
• Slightly moisten brush then tap into product and tap off excess.
• Tap brush directly onto your scalp in a circular motion.
• For increased coverage, let product dry, then apply additional layers as needed.
• Let set two minutes then style as usual.

Q: Should I use Concealing Color on wet or dry hair?
Darac: It can be used on both damp (never soaking wet) or dry hair. But applying it to damp hair will give you the best results.

Q: Can I use Concealing Color with all of my styling products?
Darac: The key to successful styling is applying Concealing Color directly onto the scalp rather than onto the hair itself and letting the product dry completely before styling. Oil and silicone-based styling products like those used to tame frizz are not compatible with Concealing Color and are best applied only onto the ends of the hair (which tend to be the frizziest anyway), and not close to the scalp.

Q: How long will Concealing Color stay in my hair and what’s the best way to remove it?
Darac: Concealing Color will look fresh and natural for one full day after applying it and thereafter should be touched up between shampooing, which is the only way to completely remove it. Brushing and styling your hair will not take out the product so long as you allow it to “set” before you start.

Q: Is CRC Concealing Color water-proof?
Darac: It is water-resistant but not water-proof. Concealing Color was designed to stand up to humid and somewhat wet conditions.

Q: How do I mix two shades together to perfectly match my hair color?
Darac: Use your fingers to apply the darker color (the one that matches your roots) all over your scalp. Next, take the damp Stippler brush to create highlights with the lighter color onto your roots. If you have dark blonde hair, for example, apply the brown shade first and then follow up with the blonde shade. Having the darker color on the bottom will make the lighter one look brighter and more brilliant. But it’s always a good idea to test your combination on a piece of paper first to ensure you are mixing the two colors together in the correct proportion.

Q: How long will Concealing Color stay fresh?
Darac: For best formula consistency and application, we recommend that you use your tube (whether opened or unopened) within one year after you purchase it.

Q: Lately, it seems like it’s become harder to squeeze Concealing Color out of the tube. Is it still “good”?
Darac: Absolutely. Over time as water evaporates from the formula it may become thicker and possibly drier, which will make it harder to squeeze out of the tube. If this happens, Concealing Color is still perfectly safe and will deliver the same excellent results. You may also see a bit of clear liquid if you haven’t used it in awhile; that’s also normal and will not affect your results.

Q: How long will one tube of Concealing Color last?
Darac: Approximately 2-3 months with daily use.

Q: What happens if I get the product on my clothes or sheets?
Darac: Like any cosmetic product, Concealing Color can stain certain fabrics but in most instances it will wash out completely. Should it transfer onto clothing or bedding, the best thing to do is to launder the fabric immediately to ensure the best results.

Q: What’s the best way to clean the Stippler Brush after using it? And how often do I need to wash it?
Darac: For best results, take a touch of mild soap and a few seconds to gently wash off the brush after each usage. If you’re pressed for time, the CRC Removal Wipes are a very quick and efficient way to remove product from the brush between uses.

Q: Are all of the ingredients in this formula safe?
Darac: Yes, all ingredients are cosmetic grade quality and have been tested for safety.
